Job summary

AVASearchGroup is seeking a board-certified CNM for an inpatient obstetrics locum in northern North Carolina. The role offers weekday-only hours, autonomy with OB backup, and a manageable patient volume in a Level II nursery setting. EMR is Epic; travel—air, hotel, mileage, and car—are provided.

Requirements include NC license, DEA (or transfer), INPATIENT obstetrics experience, ALSO, and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification within 2 years. Ongoing assignment through 6/2027.

Qualifications

• Board-certified CNM with active North Carolina license.
• DEA required (or transferable)
• Experience in inpatient obstetrics and delivery care
• ALSO certification (within 6 months if staying on long term)
• Evidence of completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course within the last 2 years

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient obstetric care in a 114-bed hospital setting.
• Assist with deliveries and manage obstetric admissions (≈1 per day; ~19 births per month).
• Coordinate care with Level II nursery, pediatric and anesthesia teams.
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and care coordination.
• Ambulatory schedule: Monday–Friday, 8a–5p with no call.
