Job summary

Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking a Locum Gastroenterology Physician for a contract assignment at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, Kansas. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, requiring strong procedural and patient management skills within a collaborative practice environment.

The assignment duration is from November 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027, with ongoing coverage potential. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified or Eligible in Gastroenterology.

Qualifications

• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology settings preferred.
• Advanced GI training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Gastroenterology care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
• Perform endoscopic and other GI procedures as appropriate.
• Manage inpatient consultations and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in accordance with facility standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to ensure quality patient care.
• Participate in call coverage and support continuity of care for GI patients.
