Job summary

77 consultants is seeking a Locum NP/PA in Gastroenterology for an on-site contract in Macon, GA. You'll work with physicians and staff to manage inpatient and outpatient care, perform evaluations, and support GI procedures.

The role offers flexible scheduling, immediate start, and competitive compensation, with travel and expenses covered. Requires active Georgia NP/PA license, GI experience preferred but not required, and Epic EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Georgia.
• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program with national certification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience; prior GI experience preferred but not required.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for patient and team interactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and symptom evaluation.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, imaging, and endoscopic studies.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Assist in endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, and capsule endoscopy.
• Provide patient education on gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
• Prescribe medications and manage follow-up care as permitted by state regulations.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
• Coordinate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.
• Participate in hospital consultations and coverage as needed.
• Stay current with evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines in gastroenterology.
