Job summary

General Healthcare Resources is seeking an experienced Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens role in San Diego, CA. The outpatient GI clinic will rely on your expertise for patient consultations, medication management, and follow-up care on a steady Monday–Friday schedule with no on-call requirements.

Start date is 9/7/2026 for 13 weeks with potential extension. The position offers weekly pay and a supportive team in a coastal city known for its mild climate and vibrant

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience.
• Recent Gastroenterology experience required.
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
• Active California NP license at time of submission.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work in an on-site outpatient clinic setting.
• Strong communication, documentation, and patient follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinic-based gastroenterology care with no procedural duties.
• Conduct initial patient consultations and evaluations.
• Review pathology results and communicate follow-up recommendations to patients.
• Manage medications and treatment plans within scope of practice.
• Complete inbox management and follow-up care coordination.
• Deliver general GI consultations and outpatient support.
• Document encounters accurately in Epic.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care.
