Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a general surgery physician for a locum-tenens assignment in Pittsburg, KS. You will cover on-call shifts (10 per month) and manage 3 eight-hour clinic days in a 10-day block, with both inpatient and outpatient duties including admissions and rounding.

The case mix includes adult, pediatric, and trauma general surgery, laparoscopic procedures, and GI endoscopy. Preference given to experience in chest wall, breast, hand surgery, and ventilation management.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient and outpatient required – admissions and rounding included.
• General surgery – adult, pediatric, and trauma.
• Laparoscopic surgery – appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty.
• GI endoscopy – upper, lower, and sigmoidoscopy.
• Preferred: chest wall, breast, hand surgery, ventilation management.
