Job summary

CompHealth seeks a General Surgeon for a locums assignment in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This call-only coverage runs 7 am to 7 am with a 30-minute response time, and typically handles 7–10 patients per shift.

Candidates should perform general, adult, trauma and laparoscopic procedures, with appendectomy and cholecystectomy skills required; chest tubes and central lines may be needed. GI endoscopy is preferred.

Qualifications

• Call coverage during a 24-hour shift (7 am to 7 am).
• 30-minute call response time requirement.
• 7–10 patients per shift.
• 0–4 phone consults and 0–5 admissions per 24 hours.
• General, adult, trauma, and laparoscopic surgery experience required.
• Appendectomy and cholecystectomy skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide general, adult, trauma and laparoscopic surgical care during shifts.
• Respond to calls within 30 minutes and manage patient admissions as needed.
