Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum general surgeon in Poplar Bluff, MO. This assignment is a 13-week engagement starting 08/31/26 with a 24-hour on-call schedule and standard 24-hour shifts from 07:00 to 07:00.

The Surgeon will perform a broad range of procedures including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals and emergency surgeries while delivering perioperative care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in surgery approved by ACGME or AOA.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general surgeries with minimal supervision.
• Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care plans.
• Be on-call for emergency surgeries and trauma cases.
• Educate patients about postoperative care and follow-up.
