Job summary

77 Consultants seeks a Gastroenterology Physician for an on-site role in Richmond. The position offers full-time hours, 24-hour call shifts, and inpatient coverage alongside experienced gastroenterology teams.

The ideal candidate holds an MD or DO, a valid U.S. medical license or eligibility, and GI fellowship or board eligibility is preferred. Strong diagnostic and communication skills are essential for patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Valid medical license to practice in the U.S. or eligibility.
• Residency in Internal Medicine; GI fellowship is a plus.
• Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and physical exams for GI concerns.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of GI conditions including reflux and IBD.
• Perform and assist with endoscopic procedures (colonoscopy, upper endoscopy) as needed.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans and orders for tests.
• Document encounters in the EMR system accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with nurses and specialists to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on GI health and prevention.
• Participate in on-call rotations and inpatient/outpatient coverage.
• Stay current with gastroenterology advances through CME.
• Maintain compliance with medical, legal, and ethical standards.
