Atlas Search in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for outpatient locum coverage starting January 2027. Coverage weeks are available throughout the year, with Monday–Friday hours and no on-call requirements.

The position involves performing endoscopic procedures (colonoscopy and EGD) in an outpatient center, approximately 14–16 cases per day, with CRNA and RN support. North Dakota license is required; licensure assistance available.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
• Active North Dakota medical license required (IMLC accepted).
• Experience performing a high volume of outpatient endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform outpatient endoscopic procedures, primarily colonoscopy and EGD.
• Carry out therapeutic procedures such as biopsies, polyp removal, foreign body retrieval, bleeding control, and variceal injection.
• Perform sigmoidoscopy, esophageal dilation and manometry, and small bowel biopsy as needed.
• Work with the anesthesia and procedure team to keep room turnover efficient and patient care safe.
• Document procedures and findings accurately and complete charting by end of day.
• Follow facility protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
