Job summary

GHR Healthcare seeks an Emergency Medicine physician for a per diem locum tenens assignment in Mexia, TX. The role involves on-site emergency care in a 10-bed ED with about 20 patient encounters per shift, Oct 12–13, 2026.

Requirements include at least 1 year EM experience, active Texas license, board certification, and ABLS/ACLS/ATLS/BLS/PALS certifications. Competitive weekly pay and malpractice coverage for contractors are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of emergency medicine experience.
• Board certification is required.
• Current, unrestricted Texas medical license is required.
• ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Ability to provide on-site emergency care in a fast-paced ED.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Manage approximately 20 patient encounters per shift.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate disposition.
• Provide emergency stabilization and clinically appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with the care team to support safe, efficient, and patient-centered emergency services.
