Job summary

77 consultants is seeking a ND-licensed APP or Physician with Emergency Medicine experience to provide sole coverage in Hazen, ND, in a Hybrid Emergency Department and inpatient setting.

You will perform emergency and inpatient procedures, handle 24-hour shifts, and coordinate with telemedicine subspecialty support (Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology) and Epic EMR. Temporary privileges and expedited ND licensing are available to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine is mandatory.
• Active North Dakota medical license required.
• ACLS/BLS/PALS/ATLS certifications are preferred.
• Proficiency in ED and inpatient procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide sole coverage for emergency and inpatient care.
• Perform emergency and inpatient procedures as needed.
• Coordinate with telemedicine and subspecialty support; manage 24-hour shifts with handoff as required.

Coverage Dates: September 7-12, with orientation on September 4

Overview: This role involves working in a Hybrid Emergency Department/Inpatient setting in Hazen, ND, providing sole provider coverage for both emergency and inpatient care. Candidates must be proficient in emergency medicine and capable of performing inpatient procedures.

Coverage Details:

• Dates: September 7-12
• Coverage Shift: 24-hour consecutive shifts
• Orientation: 8 AM on September 4, followed by a noontime handoff to the incoming provider
• Availability: While the typical end time is noon, providers should remain available until 3 PM to accommodate potential travel delays of incoming providers.
• On-Call Requirement: There are no average nightly callbacks; solo coverage overnight includes patient evaluations as part of the role.

Clinical Information:

• Facility Capacity: Total beds not specified; average daily encounters of 9 in the ED and 6 inpatient.
• ICU Capacity: 0 beds
• Tertiary Care Facility: The nearest critical care transfer facility is in Bismarck, ND.
• Required Procedures: Yes, competency in emergency and inpatient procedures is expected.
• Specialty Support: Access to Avel E-Care for ED and inpatient settings, with telemedicine support available 24/7. RPG's Compass Telemed offers subspecialty assistance for Cardiology, Infectious Disease, and Pulmonology.
