Job summary

Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Physician for a locum cardiovascular surgery assignment in Cypress, TX. The role requires performing a broad range of cardiovascular procedures at an acute care hospital and providing continuity of care for pre-, intra-, and postoperative phases.

The position includes 24-hour on-call coverage with a standard 5, 24-hour schedule, and is designed for a temporary engagement of approximately 13 weeks, starting 10-08-26.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in surgery accredited by ACGME or AOA.
• Board certification in surgery (ABS).
• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license.
• ACLS certification required.
• 1+ year of clinical locum experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper and lower endoscopies.
• Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Be on-call for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications.
• Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans.
• Provide patient education about post-operative care and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
