Palm Health Resources is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant / NP for a full-time locum role in Beautiful Southwest Texas. The assignment starts with a 3-6 month contract and may extend. Palm Health covers malpractice, travel, lodging, rental car and more, aiding a smooth onboarding.

We need an APP to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team, with First Assist coverage bridging staffing gaps. OR, inpatient, and clinic duties across the care continuum are expected.

Palm Health Resources is hiring an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant / NP in Beautiful Southwest Texas!This is a full time Locum need! 3-6 month contract to start with an option to extend! Palm Health covers your Mal Practice, Travel, Lodging, Rental Car and/or Mileage and MUCH MORE!

We are recruiting a full-time APP for our Cardiothoracic Surgery team and are also looking for a locum First Assist to help bridge our current staffing gap while we recruit for the permanent position. We currently have 2 cardiothoracic surgeons and 2 APPs.ÂThe APP/First Assist is an important part of the surgical team and has the opportunity to be involved across the continuum of care, including the OR, inpatient setting, and clinic.

The APP/First Assist will support ourcardiothoracic surgeons in the OR, including First Assist and EVHresponsibilities. Our annual cardiac surgery volume is approximately 300330cases. The majority of our cases are CABGs, with occasional valve cases andminimal thoracic/lung volume. We perform a mix of on-pump and off-pump casesand do not currently perform robotic procedures.For EVH, we utilize the Terumo VirtuoSaph Plussystem.ÂThe typical schedule is five 8-hour days per week. Weekend call is approximately every other weekend, or about two weekends per month.ÂThere is weekday call as well as approximatelyevery-other-weekend call. Call is for OR callback/First Assist coverage only.Actual callbacks are usually infrequent.ÂThe hospitals utilize Cerner as the EMR. Our outpatient clinic utilizesAthena.
