Job summary

Locum Tenens is seeking an anesthesiologist for day-shift coverage at a Level III Trauma Center in Munster, Indiana. The role involves 50% hands-on MD work within a medical supervision model (1:6) and a mix of general, cardiac, lungs, and vascular cases, with occasional spine procedures for older pediatric patients.

Credentialing takes about 90 days and temporary privileges are not available. Epic EMR is used for documentation; call is negotiable and staffing includes CRNAs and MDs.

Qualifications

• MD and board-certified in anesthesiology required.

• Case mix includes general, cardiac, lungs and vascular procedures; spine occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services during day shifts under a medical supervision model (1:6) with 50% hands-on MD involvement.
• Support cardiac procedures via a dedicated open heart team; CRNAs and MDs perform regional anesthesia.
• Collaborate with CRNAs and MDs; utilize Epic EMR for documentation.
• Manage variable case load and respond to emergent cases as needed.
