Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Anesthesiology physician in Macon, GA. The assignment runs for 26 weeks with a standard 5 days, 8-hour shift from 07:00 to 15:00 and on-call coverage. Start date is 01-04-27 with compensation of $300–$310 per hour.

The facility is an acute care hospital. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive anesthesia care across perioperative phases, collaborating with surgical teams, and documenting all care while staying current with best practices.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in anesthesiology accredited by ACGME or AOA.
• Board certification in anesthesiology (ABA or AOA).
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Georgia.
• Typically at least 1 year of clinical anesthesia experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative anesthesia care.
• Collaborate with surgeons and teams to plan patient care.
• Administer general, regional, or local anesthesia as needed.
• Monitor vitals and adjust anesthesia to keep patients stable.
• Respond to emergencies during surgery and document care.
• Document care thoroughly in medical records.
• Stay current with advances in anesthesiology through education.
