Job summary

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, is seeking Paint Preppers in Muncie, IN to mask and prep locomotives for painting. Responsibilities include masking, taping, washing, dent repair, sanding, decal application, equipment care, and safety compliance while working indoors or outdoors in all weather conditions.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; 1–3 years tool experience is desirable, with the ability to lift and maneuver equipment and work from heights. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years use of tools preferred.
• Ability to squat, bend, stoop, lift, reach, crawl, climb, and perform repetitive motion.

Responsibilities

• Mask and prep locomotives for paint.
• Power wash units for paint; check for leaks.
• Mud and glaze dents or marks, perform touch-ups, and repair flaws.
• Perform surface preparations including sanding and masking to apply stencils and decals.
• Care for, clean, and maintain booth and equipment.
• Prepare equipment for shipment.
• Use safety equipment and work with solvents and coatings.
• Work inside/outside in all weather conditions.
• Frequent work from various heights.
