Job summary

Pop-A-Lock - Northwest Indiana is seeking a motivated locksmith for an immediate full-time opening. You will be issued a vehicle and all tools, and work on automotive, residential, and commercial lock tasks in the field.

Training is available to grow your skills and you will join a nationwide locksmith network. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of locksmith experience, strong communication and customer service, and a professional, courteous demeanor.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of locksmith experience required.
• Solid automotive and residential locksmithing background.
• Ability to quickly cut keys for many makes/models and program transponders.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, rebuild and repair mechanical or electrical locking devices and door hardware.
• Perform residential/commercial locksmithing tasks (lock picking, rekeying, master keying).
• Do automotive locksmithing (tear down locks, determine key codes, cut keys, program transponders).
• Handle car door unlocks and related duties.
• Disassemble and repair locks, replace worn components.

Job description

Pop-A-Lock, America's largest locksmith, car door unlocking, and roadside assistance company, is looking for a highly motivated locksmith for an immediate full-time opening. You will not be working in a shop, but instead will be provided a vehicle and all tools needed.

You are an ideal candidate if:

• You have 2-3 years' locksmith experience
• You have a solid background in automotive and residential locksmithing
• You have the ability to quickly and easily make keys for all automobile makes and models when there is no current key present
• You have familiarity with transponder key programming
• You have excellent communications skills
• You are professional and courteous
• You have great customer service skills
• You are trainable and willing to learn new skills
• You are willing to be on call some nights, weekends and holidays
• You have an excellent driving record

Duties include:

• Install, maintain, rebuild and repair mechanical or electrical locking devices and door hardware using hand tools and special equipment
• Residential/Commercial locksmithing (lock picking, rekeying, master keying, etc.)
• Automotive locksmithing (tear down locks, determine key codes, cut keys, program transponders, etc.)
• Car Door Unlocking (training provided as needed)
• Disassemble locks, such as padlocks, safe locks, and door locks, and repairs and replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts
• Cuts new or duplicate keys using key cutting machines
