Job summary

CA Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation seeks a Locksmith I (CF) at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego County. Under the Central Services Captain, you will perform skilled work installing, repairing, and maintaining cylinder and padlock systems, opening locks, and changing combinations.

You will manage key inventories, order materials, and ensure security of all work areas. Work is in office on-site 08:00–16:00, Monday–Friday.

Duties: Under the direction of the Central Services Captain, performs skilled work as a locksmith; installs, repairs, and maintains cylinder and bit key locks, and padlocks; opens locks; changes lock combinations; repairs or replaces tumblers, springs, and other parts; keeps records and inventories keys; performs related, door inspection, doorknobs, and door strikes; orders and stores material for the Lock Shop. Maintains security of working areas and work materials; responsible to maintain the safety of persons and property.
