Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Locksmith to install, repair, rebuild, and service manual and automated locks, access control systems, and related hardware on diverse projects in Missouri. You will work within a team, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to safety standards while growing with the company.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and electronic locking systems, strong customer focus, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent required.
• 3+ years locksmith experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic locking systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, rebuild, and service manual and automated locks, locking systems, and security devices; computerized access control systems; door openers and closers.
• Troubleshoot, program, and maintain access control systems and hardware.
• Inspect work for conformance with specifications, codes, and safety regulations; estimate costs and materials for projects.

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Locksmith to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, repair, rebuild, and service manual and automated locks, locking systems and security devices; computerized access control systems; door openers, closers, and hardware. This position works on a variety of locks and systems including small to large projects that vary in complexity. The position may also work on projects with greater complexity as needed and able. As a Locksmith, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

• Repairs or replaces damaged components of entrance and exit doors; handles non‑routine systems and equipment. Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and programs computerized access control systems.
• Assists clients in unlocking doors when keys are lost or in changing lock combinations by inserting new pins into lockets.
• Installs and repairs electric strikes and electronic security hardware.
• Upgrades and maintains routine and non‑routine security systems.
• Designs and develops master key systems for clients.
• Examines locking mechanisms and fabricates keys to replace lost or damaged keys.
• Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations.
• Estimates cost, time, and materials for locksmith projects.
• Markets security lock systems, keyless entry locks, key control systems, window bars, and heavy window or door deadbolts.
• Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates, and services equipment used in the performance of duties.
• Executes all work in accordance with State, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
• Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.
• Keeps up to date and informed on all company policies. Using technical knowledge, skills and experience, acts as a mentor to less experienced staff.
• Presents a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic locking systems.
• Customer Focus – Maintaining awareness of and seeking to meet of the needs and wants of the customer.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Adaptability – Responds effectively to changes in situation or information.
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to pass high level security clearance.

Requirements

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3+ years locksmith within a commercial, industrial, or facilities operation setting

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years of experience in 1 of the following: security, electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation
• Technical diploma and/or equivalent trade
