Job summary

Heartland Co-op in Iowa seeks a location leader to direct production, distribution, quality control and marketing operations for the assigned territory, either personally or through a supervisory team.

You will coordinate warehousing, sales, inventory control, budgeting, and safety compliance, while building programs to improve service and expand markets. The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, with 1–2 years relevant experience and knowledge of AS 400 systems.

Qualifications

  • AA/associates degree or equivalent with relevant supervision experience.
  • 1–2 years related experience or training; strong leadership potential.
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents and regulations.
  • Proficient math skills for discounts, percentages, and volume calculations.
  • Basic algebra and geometry concepts; problem solving in concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of AS 400 accounting and inventory software.

  • Supervises staff; hires, trains, and evaluates performance.

Summary:Directs production, distribution, quality control, and marketing operations for location or assigned territory of Heartland Co-op by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Heartland Co-op and Regional Manager.Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.Reviews expenses and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of location.Reviews operations and directs sales program to develop income and new markets.Location leadership of grain quality, inventory control and safety compliance initiatives.Directs preparation of accounting records (sales, inventory, prepay, and expenses) for the location.Recommends budgets to management.Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.Other duties as assigned by management.Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly supervises employees in the location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS 400 accounting and inventory software.Certificates and Licenses:May be required to have a weighing license and a grain grading certificate.
