Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities, including telephone communication lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. The position is a key component in ensuring that the area complies with client and state requirements. Service duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations, and using multiple methods as required. The technician may work independently or in a team under assigned supervision.

All employees are assigned proper technology and work vehicles to perform all work‑related duties.

In order to obtain employment with GridHawk LLC, candidates must complete a background check with no violations within the last five years and must pass a DOT drug test. GridHawk LLC is an equal‑opportunity employer.

Duties

• Locate underground facilities using transmitters and other equipment.
• Work on all types of terrain and in varying weather conditions.
• Interpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to route and perform duties efficiently.
• Perform routine and emergency locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed.
• Complete all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while communicating effectively with customers, co‑employees, and third parties.
• Communicate with management, contractors, and utility customers to maintain a damage‑free environment.
• Use the necessary technology and tools.
• Work cooperatively in a supervised team environment.
