Job summary

TAKKION is seeking a driven Wind Technician to support wind turbine operations at one of our local sites. You will inspect, maintain, operate, and repair turbines, working with safety and field teams to ensure reliable power delivery.

Role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of related maintenance experience; GCWO safety training is preferred and you must be able to work around heavy equipment and on wind turbines up to 260 feet tall.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related maintenance experience.
• Active GWO Basic Safety Training certificate, preferred.
• At least one year of experience working around heavy equipment preferred.
• Must understand and be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair, all mechanical, hydraulic, braking, and electrical systems of a turbine.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must have a team-driven attitude.
• Ability to work on a diverse team.
• Ability to use technology apps and devices.

• Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
• Replace worn or malfunctioning components.
• Follow maintenance manual and standard operating procedures for performing maintenance on wind turbine parts.
• Complete and validate written and electronic progress reports.
• Complete end of day housekeeping.
• Performs other job-related duties.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb on a ladder system with tools and equipment to a height of at least 260 feet.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to climb and work for prolonged periods in potential extreme weather.
• Must be able to enter and exit confined spaces for purpose of accessing mechanical parts.
• Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to work beyond normal operating hours as determined by business demands.
