It requires a valid driver’s license (0 points) and a DOT card, with a focus on safety and efficiency. The position operates weekday hours from 8am to 5:30pm, 35–40 hours weekly, with occasional Saturdays and schedule changes.

Qualifications

• Current driver license required with 0 points; DOT card must be cleared by Insurance.
• Non CDL, able to drive 24' stake body and/or 24' - 26' box truck.
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
• Organizational skills to load materials efficiently onto truck.
• Energetic, organized, and self-motivated.
• Knowledge of building materials helpful for handling inventory.
• Must be reliable, dependable and responsible.
• Ability to communicate with a variety of people.
• Ability to read maps and route self-daily.
• Must pass annual and random drug tests, including pre-employment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload truck in a safe and careful manner.
• Secure inventory and equipment against damage, deterioration and theft.
• Ensure inventory is placed in holding area or received by staff with proper forms.
• Keep truck clean and presentable.
• Supervise Truck Assistant.
• Map routes daily and confirm pickup times with donors.
• Gather and maintain equipment needed for pickups.
• Track miles daily in logbook; GPS tracking in truck.
• Know acceptable vs non-acceptable materials policy.
• Organize regular maintenance of truck.
• Communicate effectively with donors and staff.
• Help establish cost-effective donor pickup routes.
• Assist warehouse on daily projects, including inventory.
• Assist in special projects as needed.
