Job summary

Hearst Television is seeking a Local News Producer to craft and coordinate compelling live newscasts. You will manage content, guide reporters, and align on-air team efforts to deliver timely, accurate coverage.

The role demands strong writing/editing skills, newsroom experience, and the ability to work flexible hours including holidays, nights, weekends, and overnights. In-person attendance is required; reporting to the Executive Producer.

Qualifications

• Professional or college producing experience required.
• Experience working in a newsroom.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
• Ability to coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Ability to summarize information into clear, digestible components.
• Creative presentation style with ability to showcase all resources.
• Highest journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
• Must be available to work holidays, nights, weekends and overnights; flexible with schedule during breaking news.
• Related military experience will be considered.
• In-person attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Select, research, and write content for live newscasts to create an engaging experience for viewers.
• Guide reporters in story production.
• Coordinate creative vision with anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff.
• Booth assigned newscasts, breaking news, and weather events.
• Time newscasts in real time.
