KSBW 8 NBC • Central Coast ABC • Estrella TV is seeking a strong Producer who can craft memorable newscasts and lead a fast-paced newsroom. The right candidate will be decisive, creative, and able to communicate a clear plan under pressure.

We value a track record of breaking news, strong writing and editing, and the ability to coordinate multiple crews. In-person attendance is required and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2 years producing experience.
• Creative presentation style.
• Experience in a newsroom; ability to stay calm under pressure; ENPS knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and copy-editing skills.
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate several crews and responsibilities.
• Ability to summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
• Must be available to work holidays, nights, weekends, and overnights; flexible with schedule for breaking news.
• Bilingual a plus.

KSBW 8 (NBC) / Central Coast ABC / Estrella TV Costa Central, part of Hearst Television, has an opening for a strong, take-charge Producer who knows how to create memorable newscasts. The right candidate will have a track record of being creative, aggressive, have the ability to make decisions and communicate the plan in a clear, concise manner. We expect excellent news judgment and a can-do attitude. Candidates must have a proven track record of winning the big story, breaking news, and weather. Candidates must be fast and calm under pressure and able to play well in a room of same-minded pros. This role reports to the News Director.

Responsibilities

• Selecting, researching, and writing content for live newscasts to make the newscast an experience for viewers.
• Working with and guiding reporters in story production.
• Communicating, coordinating, and executing creative vision with team of anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff.
• In-person attendance is required.

• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
• Must be available to work holidays, shifts that include nights, weekends, and overnights, and flexible with schedule to be available during breaking news.
• Bilingual a Plus.
• Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience.

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $48,000 and $53,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
