Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• Travel nurse experience preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal status during labor and delivery.
• Act as primary contact for family members throughout labor and postpartum.
• Assist with phlebotomy, IV placement and medication administration.
• Educate families on newborn care and postnatal needs.

Responsibilities

Labor and Delivery RNs (L&D RNs) are responsible for monitoring patients throughout labor and serve as the primary point of contact for family members. L&D RNs monitor the baby’s heart rate and provide immediate care to the newborn. L&D RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform knowledge of phlebotomy, basic IV, and central lines
• Assess and record maternal vital signs throughout labor and post-partum stages
• Administer pain medication and other medicines as ordered
• Educate and support new mothers and families on infant care
