Job summary

ADP, Inc. seeks a Local Infrastructure Service Specialist in Aguadilla, PR, to support and monitor IT infrastructure and systems in a stand-alone and client-server environment.

Under supervision, you will install, configure, service, repair and maintain IT systems, while coordinating with central IT on local installations. Responsibilities include administering local infrastructure, liaising with suppliers, managing service requests, and participating in project testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in end-user support and in service management.
  • Good practical skills in system administration (Windows 7/XP, Windows Server, Linux/Unix).
  • MS Office 2007/2010 proficiency.
  • Good knowledge of IT infrastructure.
  • Very good knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Capacity for intercultural competence; teamwork; ability to work under pressure.
  • Customer and service orientation; fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

  • Description of the Position

Acts as the local support on all IT basic infrastructures related topics. Will monitor and maintain our IT systems. Will focus on specific computer networks, databases, and system administration. Under supervision, will install, configure, service, repair and maintain information technology systems in both a stand-alone and client-server environment. Also, participate in technical research to enable continuing innovation within the organization and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, and software systems are operational.

  • Act as the local support for all IT and local basic infrastructure operations. Be liaison to central IT on all local installations and systems.
  • Administer and maintain local infrastructure and installations.
  • Liaison with suppliers of local installation in relation to service management requests
  • In accordance with equipment contracts and service level agreements liaison with suppliers to execute repairs or replacements
  • Follow up and provide feedback on supplier relationships.
  • Operate the service management infrastructure including a service management software package. Identify, diagnose, maintain, and escalate service requests.
    • Operate and maintain a central ticketing system.
    • Support for application monitoring and calculation of KPIs
    • Maintain equipment documentation, repair process and knowledge-based systems updated.
  • IT infrastructure development: Support in creation of documents for end-user testing. To represent and support local users in the creation of testing scenarios for basic infrastructure related projects.
  • Work as a member of IT projects
  • Setup testing scenarios, support and record testing results and related data
  • Carryout regression and integration testing for local IT infrastructure changes
  • Give feedback to central IT on the progress of infrastructure related projects, and to accelerate when as where required issues and risks.
  • Provide user awareness training on the proper use of IT equipment and basic infrastructure systems in accordance with central training department.
  • Carryout user training and elevate training needs to central IT.

  • Comply and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, local and federal regulations.

Education, Skills, and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in end-user support and in service management
  • Good practical skills in system administration (Windows 7 / Windows XP, Windows Server technologies, Linux/Unix) MS Office 2007 / 2010; excellent knowledge of local IT basic infrastructure
  • Good knowledge of PD basic infrastructure
  • Very good knowledge of ITIL processes
