Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Experience operating a lowboy or heavy-haul tractor-trailer preferred.
• Experience transporting heavy construction equipment preferred.
• Ability to safely load, unload, chain, bind, and secure equipment.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe load securement practices.
• Manual transmission experience required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with securing and transporting equipment.
• Ability to work early mornings, extended hours, and varying schedules depending on project needs.
• Strong attention to safety and equipment care.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Experience in asphalt paving, excavation, trucking, or the construction industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a lowboy tractor-trailer to transport heavy construction equipment and machinery
• Load, unload, secure, and properly position equipment for transport
• Haul equipment such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, excavators, loaders, milling equipment, and other construction machinery
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain required DOT documentation
• Ensure loads are properly secured and comply with DOT regulations and company safety standards
• Coordinate with field crews, dispatch, and supervisors to ensure equipment arrives at job sites safely and on schedule
• Navigate job sites and construction environments safely and efficiently
• Inspect assigned truck and trailer and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Keep truck, trailer, and equipment clean and in good working condition
• Assist with equipment movement and other construction-related duties as needed
• Follow all company, DOT, and job-site safety policies
