Job summary

Republic & T.F. Ehrhart in Peoria, IL is hiring a Driver-Warehouse associate to support local customer deliveries and warehouse tasks.

No nights or weekends. You will drive routes, load/unload, verify orders, inspect vehicle, and maintain equipment; occasional cycle counts and inventory support are also expected.

Qualifications

• Education required: High School diploma.
• Experience: 0–2 years in warehouse or delivery roles.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
• Customer service, energetic, detail-oriented, and tech-proficient.
• DOT physical and drug test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders on a local route and build order manifests.
• Load and unload items, and ensure proper delivery documentation.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Coordinate with Fleet Manager for maintenance and documentation.
• Receive shipments, inspect for damage, and place items using FIFO.
• Occasionally work in the warehouse and assist with inventory.

Job Information

Our Driver-Warehouse position supports local customer deliveries that let you return home each night as well as some warehouse activities. Your typical responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Role & Responsibility

• Run a delivery route for delivering customer orders. This may include pulling the equipment and parts for your orders, loading and unloading your orders on to the truck, Building your manifest (your plan or schedule of your route), contacting customers, Confirming order details, providing proof of delivery, etc.
• Taking care of your vehicle, keeping them clean, loading items safely and securely, reporting any incidents of vehicle or product damage to your supervisor immediately
• Following the rules of the road and reporting any safety or driving infractions immediately
• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to company policy
• Working with the Delivery Services Coordinator and/or Fleet Manager to ensure routine maintenance is completed when needed and proper documentation is delivered to the Fleet Manager.
• Receiving shipments, confirming quantities and inspecting shipments for damage
• Completing or assisting with receiving paperwork and transfer paperwork as required
• Putting away product and following standard warehouse procedures like First-In-First-out Inventory practices
• Occasional cycle counts and assisting other departments with inventory questions.
• We're one big team so there are some days where you will mostly drive, but there may be other times where you are needed in the warehouse.

There may be other things that come up so additional duties may be assigned as needed.

• Education Required: High School diploma Required
• Experience Required: 0-2 years of warehouse experience depending on role
• Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
• CDL preferred; not required
• Good customer service skills
• Energetic
• Attention to detail
• Technology proficient - able to use Microsoft products and delivery scanners and tablets.
• Pass a D.O.T. physical
• Able to pass a drug screen (If CDL)

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to squat, bend and lift over 25-50 lbs. frequently
• Ability to move large pieces of equipment using a dolly which requires pushing and pulling up to 150 pounds frequently
• Ability to stand for long periods, use stairs frequently, walk on uneven surfaces
• Manual dexterity is required
