Job summary

Food Bank for New York City is seeking an on-site Driver to safely transport and deliver produce, frozen, and dry food products across New York City's five boroughs. You will represent the organization professionally, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Safe driving record required.
• No DUIs/DWIs/major accidents in past 24 months.
• 18 years or older.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Background check required.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to use mobile devices for communication/documentation.
• Ability to complete multiple deliveries daily.
• Strong organizational/time-management/multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a diverse team.
• Professional, detail-oriented, customer service-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to complete deliveries and pickups.
• Deliver and pick up produce, frozen, and dry food products to designated locations.
• Load and unload trailers using forklifts and hand trucks.
• Inspect products and verify quantities, expiration dates, and shipment accuracy.
• Obtain shipping bills and signatures for deliveries and pickups.
• Complete and return required paperwork and electronic logs on time.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections (oil, water, fuel, tire pressure).
• Communicate route updates and issues to transportation leadership.
