Job summary

Airgas, a leading U.S. supplier of industrial and safety products, is hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Grand Prairie, TX. You will operate from a local Airgas branch delivering cylinders to customers, ensuring safe handling and on-time service.

The ideal candidate holds a TX Class A CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements, has at least 1 year of Class A/B driving experience, and can lift up to 75 lbs regularly while handling heavier loads with equipment. Benefits start after 30 days.

Qualifications

• Valid TX Class A CDL.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
• 1 year of Class A/B driving experience in the last 5 years with limited incidents.
• 21 years or older.
• Proficiency in reading MSDS sheets.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs regularly and up to 125 lbs with assistance.
• Able to operate vehicles with hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours.
• Occasional overtime availability.
• Able to obtain required safety credentials for customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compressed gas cylinders safely to local customers.
• Manage flow of cylinders from branch/plant using company truck.
• Build lasting relationships with customers visited.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading and safe driving practices.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

• Valid TX Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications required.
• We are looking for one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a commitment to road safety to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
• We also welcome graduates with a diploma from an accredited driving school within the last 12 months OR a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
• Candidates should be at least 21 years or older.
• Proficiency in navigating and comprehending material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Ideally, you are comfortable operating vehicles with hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also part of our daily operations.
• Availability to support the team with occasional overtime if necessary.
• Ability to obtain and maintain collaborative safety credentials for customer site access.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in operating heavy machinery (Forklift/Moffett).
