Job summary

VyTalent Solutions is seeking a local contract Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist for a school-based setting in Willis, Texas. This part-time role runs for the 2026-2027 school year with an 8-hour weekly schedule.

Candidates must hold ACVREP COMS certification and valid Texas credentials, and have experience in educational environments working with visually impaired students and collaborating with teachers and TVIs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility evaluations to assess students' spatial awareness, travel skills, and environmental navigation.
• Provide direct instruction in safe, independent travel techniques across school, home, and community environments.
• Teach concepts related to spatial orientation, cane skills, route planning, and environmental cues tailored to visually impaired students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and TVIs to support safe navigation and access within educational settings.
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to functional travel goal development, and maintain compliant progress reports.
