WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a local contract nurse RN Infusion for a local contract nursing job in Plainsboro, New Jersey.

Job Description & Requirements

Our client is a privately owned, specialty practice medical group that focuses on oncology. They need Infusion RN's to support day‑to‑day activities on a full‑time/40 hour per week basis.

Job Function
  • Administer I.V. drugs to chemotherapy and other patients under the supervision of the physician; flushing ports.
  • Advise the Senior Charge Nurse/Pharmacy Manager NCC of needed medication and supplies.
  • Appropriately dispose of chemo waste which may contaminate the environment.
  • Prepare and maintain chemo equipment; inform Senior Charge Nurse/Pharmacy Manager of needed repairs.
  • Educate patients on nutrition and side effects of the drugs used.
  • Promptly recognize treatment of extravasation, according to department guidelines.
  • Ensure that all new patients speak with the Business Office before receiving therapy.
  • Control scheduling, attempting to reschedule patients when over‑booked.
  • Document drugs, solutions, treatments, and patient responses according to department guidelines.
  • Follow department guidelines regarding protective techniques to avoid exposure to antineoplastic drugs during preparation and administration.
  • Adhere to universal infectious control precautions and hazardous substance guidelines.
