Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is hiring Class B P&D Drivers for local daytime work in Michigan. You will transport freight between Service Centers and customers, performing inspections and handling shipping papers to ensure safe, efficient deliveries.

The position offers competitive weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package, with opportunities for Class A advancement. Requirements include a Class B CDL with HazMat/Tank endorsements, a valid DOT medical card, and at least 18 months of driving

Qualifications

Must be at least 23 years old.
At least 18 months of commercial driving experience.
Valid Class B CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement.
Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card.
No DUI or reckless operation convictions in past 3 years.
Less than 2 moving violations in past 3 years.
Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

Transport, load and unload freight between Service Centers and customers.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the tractor and trailer.
Document freight control processes accurately.
Read and understand maps, road signs, shipping papers and hazardous materials markings.
Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer as needed.
Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and assist customers with shipping papers.
