Job summary

Tama-Benton Cooperative is seeking a Part-Time Local Class A Driver to transport hopper and tanker loads in the area. A valid CDL and hopper-tanker experience are required, with a clean driving record and knowledge of DOT rules.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, complete documentation, and provide excellent customer service while coordinating with dispatch and customers. The role emphasizes safety, punctuality, and professionalism, with local routes and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with necessary endorsements.
• Experience pulling hoppers and tankers.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents within the past three years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation laws.
• Ability to safely operate hopper and tanker trailers.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy loads and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport local loads using hopper and tanker trailers for Tama-Benton Cooperative.
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe driving.
• Perform pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Load and unload cargo in a timely and organized manner following procedures.
• Complete all required documentation (bills of lading, delivery receipts, etc.).
• Maintain communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers about schedules and delays.
• Comply with safety protocols and DOT regulations.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
• Report any accidents or malfunctions promptly to the company.
