Job summary

Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale is hiring a delivery driver at our Delmont, PA location. Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL and be able to drive a manual transmission. The role requires pre-trip inspections, vehicle maintenance, and timely product delivery to customer facilities.

Expect early start times (5am–7:45am) and overtime after 8 hours with a $1,000 sign-on bonus. This position includes beer perks for internal staff and promotes safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL license in good standing.
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission.
• DOT Certified with current MEC.
• Basic reading, math and writing skills.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Review routing slip for accuracy, correcting any discrepancies.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspection on assigned vehicles.
• Maintain delivery vehicle and ensure safe operation.
• Operate vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety rules.
• Transport and deliver product to customer facility in a timely and efficient manner and in the appropriate sequence.
• Unload product from delivery truck to cooler, basement or storage area as directed by the customer.
• Rotate product at customer site as necessary.

Who are we:

Established in 1982, Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale is the largest beer wholesaler in southwest PA. We have two locations - South Side, Pittsburgh and Delmont, Westmoreland County. This is for our Delmont location. We operate a 70+ truck delivery fleet daily.

Here’s the pay:

• $50,000 - $75,000 per year
• Overtime paid after 8 hours
• $1,000 sign-on bonus

Here’s the schedule:

Monday-Friday. You’ll start between 5am-7:45am and you will work until the job is done! Yes, your day starts early so don't apply if you are not a morning person.

Here’s more of what you will do:

• Review routing slip for accuracy, correcting any discrepancies.

• Maintain delivery vehicle (e.g. checking all fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation.
• Operate vehicle in accordance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety rules.
• Transport and deliver product to customer facility in a timely and efficient manner and in the appropriate sequence.
• Unload product from delivery truck to cooler, basement, storage area, etc. as directed by the customer.
• Rotate product at customer site as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent Certificate
• Valid Class A CDL license in good standing

Physical Requirements & Essential Functions

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver up to 200lbs by hand truck frequently
• Ability to perform job functions in compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety policies and best practices.
