Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Class A CDL Truck Driver for local home daily routes. You’ll earn weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and paid training while operating day cabs and dry van trailers.

You will perform safety checks, follow DOT regulations, and deliver auto parts to surrounding areas with no-touch freight on most days. Requires valid CDL-A and endorsements plus experience as described in the posting. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, start at 6:00 pm, 40+ hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide a valid Class A CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months in past 3 years, 2 years in past 5 years, or 5 years in past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
