Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a delivery driver to perform local and regional deliveries and pickups, provide dock support, and operate a forklift. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, at least two years of driving experience, and forklift experience.

SUMMARY

Perform local and regional deliveries and pickups. Will be required to provide dock support and operate a forklift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Transporting local finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants and distribution centers.
• Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and report items for preventative maintenance.
• Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules.
• Document and log work/rest periods and mileage spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
• Secure loads properly, utilizing chains and straps.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents or violations.
• Read and understand bill of lading.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• At least two years of driving experience.
• Valid Class A CDL
• Flatbed Experience / securement of coils
• Forklift Experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
