Job summary

Performance Food Group in Morristown, TN seeks a CDL-B Driver to support local, home-daily routes. You will operate tractor or straight truck, ensure timely deliveries and maintain professional customer interactions daily.

Starting pay is $21.76 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including health, 401(k) matching, stock purchase plan, education assistance, PTO, and more. You will work Monday–Friday, with safety and DOT compliance at the forefront.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL-B license.
• Must be 21+ years old and meet licensing requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and background check.
• Pass road test and obtain DOT Health Card.

Responsibilities

• Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed.
• Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately reports all safety hazards. Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded.
• Checks and completes in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight.
• Moves tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
• Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
• Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas.
• Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy.
