Location: Chicago, IL
Pay Rate: $24.50 – $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Job Duties and Overview

• Operate a 28 ft reefer truck to deliver food throughout Chicagoland.
• Load 2-10 pallets on the truck using a pallet jack and lift gate.
• Pick up and deliver to stops on route.
• Keep accurate records and report discrepancies to manager.
• Use ELD for pre/post trip and routes.
• Customer Service is key.
• Keep truck clean.
• Maintain care of issued equipment and report any issues to the manager or supervisor.
• City and food delivery experience is a plus.
• Will deliver in some tight areas.

Experience Requirements

• Safe driving history with a strong commitment to defensive driving practices.
• Ability to inspect vehicles, identify safety concerns, and complete required documentation.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and proper cargo securement when applicable.
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet delivery schedules.
• Professional communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• CDL B Drivers license with airbrake endorsement
• Clean MVR
• Ability to load/unload using liftgate and pallet jack.
• Good at backing up in tight areas

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous professional driving, delivery, transportation, or logistics experience is preferred.
• Experience operating commercial vehicles, delivery trucks, box trucks, or tractor-trailers is beneficial depending on the assignment.
• Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation, routing software, or transportation documentation is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate dependability, professionalism, and a commitment to safety are well positioned for success as a Local CDL B Driver.
• City and food delivery a plus.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit for extended periods while safely operating a vehicle.
• Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, move, or secure freight and materials when required by the assignment.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and work safely in varying weather and road conditions.

Driving Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license
• DOT Medical Card
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clear MVR
• 1 year CDL experience (within the past 3 years)
• No more than 3 moving violations/at-fault accidents (within the past 3 years)
• No DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations (within the past 5 years)
