Job summary

TransForce is seeking a Local CDL A Driver to work in Springfield, IL, returning home daily. You'll operate a Kenworth automatic truck with a 53 ft reefer trailer, handle unloading with electronic pallet jack, and complete 5–6 stops per day.

This full-time role offers Monday–Friday routes, early start times, competitive hourly pay with overtime, and benefits including a 401K. Strong reliability, clean MVR, and DOT/FMCSA compliance are required.

Qualifications

• CDL A license with clean MVR.
• 4+ years of driving experience.
• Must meet DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and unload with pallet jack.
• Strong communication with Dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Kenworth automatic truck with a 53 ft reefer trailer.
• Transport and deliver produce/food products to designated locations.
• Complete 5-6 stops per day across assigned routes.
• Unload products using an electronic pallet jack.
• Accurately maintain logs.
• Communicate effectively with Dispatch and Operations.
• Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (no major violations in last 3 years).
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements.
• Ability to safely handle unloading with equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong reliability and time management skills.
• Vision requirements as per safety standards.

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated Local CDL A Driver to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work locally and return home daily while providing essential transportation services for produce and food products.

• Work Days: Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday


• Shift Start: As early as 3:00 AM (route dependent)


• Route Type: Local


• Equipment: Kenworth automatic truck with a 53 ft reefer trailer


• Handling: Unloading products using an electronic pallet jack

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Kenworth automatic truck with a 53 ft reefer trailer


• Transport and deliver produce/food products to designated locations


• Complete 5-6 stops per day across assigned routes


• Unload products using an electronic pallet jack


• Accurately maintain logs

• 4+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience
