Job summary

McGrath Rent Corp. is seeking a CDL-A Driver for local routes in North Salt Lake City, UT. You will operate company vehicles, deliver modular buildings and containers, and secure loads with straps for safe transit.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service, with a Monday–Friday day shift and year-round work. A valid CDL-A and 1+ year driving experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A license.
• At least 1 year of recent, verifiable Class A CDL driving experience.
• Confidence using winches, straps, and tie-downs to secure heavy loads.
• Readiness and physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks.
• Physical strength to lift up to 50 lbs to shoulder height.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Real ID for compliance and travel readiness.
• Proven experience with oversize load hauling is strongly desired.
• Hands-on experience transporting containers and/or modular buildings is a plus.
• Familiarity with Landoll or Low-boy trailers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive with purpose and precision, operating company vehicles safely and responsibly while following all DOT and oversized load regulations.
• Deliver portable containers, offices, and modular buildings on time and with care.
• Secure every load with confidence using straps and protective coverings for safe transit.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report mileage to keep vehicles in top condition.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch and operations for smooth deliveries.
• Provide professional, courteous customer support at every drop-off and pick-up location.
• Set up and dismantle modular buildings using piers, pads, blocks, and anchors.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and conduct spot checks to address hazards.
• Perform minor roadside repairs to keep operations moving.
• Complete end-of-day clean-up and equipment servicing for a safe workspace.
• Use basic computer skills to manage logs, checklists, and sign-offs.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support the team.
