Job description

Amwaste is looking for a person to help with their Commercial and Residential lines of business. These individuals would be responsible for managing the garbage container and cart inventory, making deliveries, swapping out damaged containers, and picking up carts from cancelled accounts. The driver must provide courteous services for customers, ensure all safety rules are adhered to, maintain vehicle compliance with safety standards, conduct daily vehicle inspections, and demonstrate good customer service, time management, and teamwork skills.

Principal Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspection to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
• Safely operate truck along designated route; read route sheet, follow map, and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by dispatcher/supervisor.
• Courtinely interact with all customers, dispatchers and others to ensure routes are serviced timely and professionally.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them per departmental procedures.
• Continuously monitor vehicle condition to keep it operationally ready and minimize downtime.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, DVIR and other reports as required.
• Maintain adherence to required productivity standards to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
