Qualifications

Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about supporting the training of Soldiers and units on using Command and Control Information Systems (C2IS) such as Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Mounted Mission Command-System (MMC-S), and Simulation Systems such as Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM) and Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network equipment and ensuring the smooth operation of our LAN infrastructure.

The selected candidate will work at the Arlington Heights, IL US Army Reserve (USAR) Mission Training Complex (MTC). The LAN Technician performs day-to-day computer network operations, including hardware or software support, planning, design, and implementing data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems, conducts network wiring plans and LAN or WAN hardware or software purchases, and conducts system installation, backup, maintenance, problem-solving, and network or remote connectivity hardware or software support. Evaluates the technical feasibility of proposed system solutions and facilitates the maintenance of network user documentation, including hardware or software applications, support logs, and other information. Conduct research, recommend network and server hardware and software solutions for large complex networks, and monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, or evaluate hardware, software, and other network problems. Analyzes, maintains, and implements network support and archiving procedures, implements, and manage network policies, procedures, and standards, and enforces security procedures.

What You’ll Do
  • Install and configure network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure network efficiency.
  • Collaborate with network engineers and other IT professionals to optimize network performance.
  • Maintain network security protocols and ensure data protection.
  • Document network configurations and updates.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of two years of related experience, or minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Experience with network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance, and problem solving, network and remote connectivity hardware/software support.
  • Experience researching and recommending network and server hardware/software for large complex networks.
  • Experience installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have a current Secret security clearance.
