Job Description

• The Loan Underwriter performs loan underwriting for Conventional, FHA and VA mortgage loans.
• Underwrites loans to the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and Government National Mortgage Association Guidelines (GNMA) guidelines. (Underwriting is done manually and through the FNMA DU automated underwriting system)
• Performs compliance reviews on underwritten files verifying that files are in compliance with RESPA and TILA.
• Provides underwriting support and training to all other non-senior underwriters.
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain working knowledge of an array of products and services

All Candidates Must Have the Following Experiences

• Master knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines.
• As noted above, deep experience with government loans and vast knowledge of FHA and VA underwriting guidelines is mandatory

• Master knowledge of RESPA and TILA.
• Appraisal review experience is essential
• A strong background working in an environment with established quotas and goals
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field is preferred but not required
