FULL-TIME HOURLY (FT): These employees work from 30 to 40 hours each week and are paid on an hourly basis. They are eligible for the same benefits as salaried employees and paid time off is paid at 8 hours per day.
Responsible for administration of complex commercial, mortgage, participation/investor, escrow, and related loan activities. Independently reviews and processes transactions, resolves exceptions within assigned authority, performs quality-control review of work completed by others, reconciles assigned accounts, and coordinates corrective action.
· High School diploma or GED
· Two+ years’ loan servicing experience, preferably involving complex maintenance, payments, participations/investors, reconciliations, or comparable functions
· Working knowledge of loan documentation, servicing practices, and applicable regulatory requirements
· Strong accuracy, analytical ability, organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
· Ability to interpret loan records, documentation, procedures, and regulatory or policy requirements
· Ability to exercise independent judgment within established authority, resolve issues, and escape issues with significant risk
·Strong written and verbal communication skills
·Ability to perform quality-control review of others’ work and provide procedural guidance
·Strong technology skills, including proficiency with common business applications and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and systems
· Sound judgment, strong loan-servicing knowledge, and the ability to identify and elevate financial, operational, customer, or compliance risk
1. Administers assigned participation, investor, agency, and partner-institution servicing activities, including reconciling loan activity, validating balances and payment information, distributing or disbursing participant/investor shares, and researching and resolving variances.
2. Reviews customer escrow analyses and related tax or insurance disbursement activity for accuracy; investigates discrepancies, determines necessary system or statement corrections within established procedures, and documents resolution.
3. Reviews and processes loan maintenance for accuracy, authorization, bank procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements; resolves exceptions within authority and escalates material issues.
4. Processes and researches ACH returns, auto-debit exceptions, Cash Items, and other payment exceptions. Determines the appropriate correction based on account history, supporting information, established procedures, and lender/officer direction when required.
5. Reviews non-accrual, charge-off, ORE, recovery, extension, and other designated requests for completeness, accuracy, authorization, and adherence to applicable procedures before completing system updates.
6. Processes customer-specific draws, rate changes, payment changes, and other complex servicing transactions based on authorized instructions; verifies resulting system information for accuracy.
7. Verifies daily balance reports and note exception reports, making the appropriate adjustments to the loan system.
8. Reviews various daily and monthly reports, including Unapplied Funds; researches unusual items, completes follow-up, and documents resolution.
9. Orders department supplies and maintains designated budget-usage information, when assigned.
10. Performs independent second-level quality-control review of commercial, mortgage, and letter-of-credit loan input and maintenance completed by coworkers; identifies errors or control exceptions and requires or performs corrective action within authority.
11. Serves as a knowledgeable resource to Loan Services staff and other areas of the bank; provides cross-training and procedural guidance.
12. Communicates with lenders, customers, coworkers, investors/participants, and other institutions to research discrepancies and obtain timely resolution.
13. Identifies recurring errors, control weaknesses, process inefficiencies, or system issues and recommends improvements to management.
14. Maintains knowledge of relevant procedures, systems, and regulatory requirements; protects confidential customer and bank information. Ensures procedures are updated as appropriate.
15. Provides professional and timely internal and external customer service while protecting confidential customer and bank information.
16. Cross-trains on other Loan Services functions and serves as backup for complex or specialized activities as assigned.
17. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
