Job Description: Loan Originator at Merchants Mortgage & Trust Corporation

Location:

• Remote role, candidates must reside in/near:
• Tampa, FL
• Miami, FL

Compensation: $150,000 to $250,000 per year (base + commission)

Role Summary/Purpose

The Loan Originator will source, vet, foster, and close relationships for Merchants Mortgage & Trust’s Bridge Loan programs. Candidates should have experience in providing bridge financing to builders, with existing relationships in the residential real estate Fix & Flip and Ground Up construction sectors. The role requires motivation, strong communication skills, and the ability to excel in a competitive sales environment.

Responsibilities

1. Identify, develop, and close prospective bridge loan borrowers
2. Maintain strong relationships with borrowers
3. Gather all necessary paperwork and financial information from borrowers
4. Report on business development and sales activities
5. Meet with prospects regularly
6. Develop and execute business plans with thorough market and competitor analysis

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience originating bridge loans
• Minimum monthly self-sourced pipeline of $3 million
• Established book of business
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and basic computer skills
