Job Purpose

The Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) will support high producing Loan Officers in all aspects of the mortgage loan origination process. The LOA is responsible for reviewing files for adherence to underwriting standards and ensuring completeness of submission. Contacts borrower and/or mortgage broker to collect necessary documentation and act as a liaison between origination staff, underwriters, and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative/clerical, marketing, communication and relationship management, and processing support to Loan Officer which allow them more time to originate and generate new business
  • Work closely with LO agents and pre-approved customers to obtain status of home-buying process and purchase offers
  • Maintain effective communication with agents and customers to obtain timely receipt of loan packages, executed Agreement of Sale, and all trailing loan documents
  • Organize and maintain database of current loan pipeline and track loan status as well as appraisal, loan conditions and closing deadlines. Work closely with LO, Loan Processing, internal closing department and external title closing companies to insure loan conditions are cleared
  • Provide administrative support in the collection and preparation of submitting loan application with supporting documentation to processing OR Prepare and submit loan application to processing, resolve file issues, conversations with customers, vendors and referral partners.
  • Coordinate, create, track and distribute marketing materials
  • Send and collect 1003, disclosures and supporting documentation from customer for completion and signatures
  • Perform other duties as necessary
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years mortgage experience required.
  • Licensed LOA preferred
  • Maintain education with regulatory and industry standards and requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Strong customer service/ presentation skills
  • Highly Self-Motivated and proactive
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to problem solve and define the root issues
  • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office products
