Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Process consumer loan transactions and respond to inquiries.
  • Analyze financial statements, cash flows, pay records and tax returns.

  • Proactively obtain new consumer and 1–4 family residential loan customers.
  • Prioritize workload effectively.
  • Receive loan applications and approve/reject requests per policies.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements related to safety, soundness, compliance, and operations.
  • Develop referral networks and cross-sell products and services to meet bank goals.
  • Service loan portfolio to ensure documentation requirements are met.
  • Assist co-workers as needed.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customers and the Bank.
  • Adhere to core values and attendance expectations.
  • Travel for trade/industry schools and seminars as needed.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and Bank policies.

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for managing an existing loan portfolio, developing new business, underwriting, structuring, and closing loans in accordance with the Bank’s established policies and procedures.

The Loan Officer must exercise sound judgment in the loan making process. This position will have extensive customer contact and will be responsible for all operational aspects for consumer, agricultural, or commercial loans. This position is responsible for abiding by and keeping up to date on the Bank’s lending policies, as well as State and Federal lending regulations.

The level of this position is based on years of service, education and/or equivalent experience, knowledge level and skill set.

Essential Functions
  1. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Knowledge of the regulations governing consumer and 1–4 family lending practices.
  3. Innovative outlook to drive continual progress and retention.
  4. Process consumer loan transactions and aid on transaction inquires.
  5. Analyze financial statements, cash flows, pay records and tax returns.
  6. Present credits and loans for approval to the appropriate authority as required.
  7. Be pro‑active in obtaining new consumer and 1–4 family residential loan customers for the Bank.
  8. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize workload.
  9. Receive consumer and 1 – 4 family loan applications and approve or reject loan requests in accordance with loan policies and procedures.
  10. Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of regulatory requirements as they relate to safety and soundness, compliance, and operations.
  11. Develop referral networks, suggest alternate channels, and cross‑sell products and services to accomplish the Bank’s goals.
  12. Service loan portfolio to ensure documentation requirements are met.
  13. Assist co‑workers as needed.
  14. This position requires a valid Driver’s License.
  15. Demonstrate a strong commitment to customers and the Bank.

  17. Regular attendance and punctuality when reporting to work.
  18. Travel for trade and industry schools and seminars as needed.
  19. This position may require installation of a Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) app on an employee’s personal mobile device. THE MFA apps are used to authenticate a user’s identity to the system for security purposes.
  20. Adhere to and comply with all applicable, federal, and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including those related to BSA/AML, as well as adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned and requested.
Education and Experience
  • Required - High School diploma or GED.
  • Required - Continuing Education to maintain job knowledge.
  • Required - Three to Five years of banking experience.
  • Preferred - Three to Five years of customer service experience.
  • Preferred - Proficiency in Microsoft Suites.
