Job summary

Greenwood Fabricating And Plating LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Plating Technician to receive, verify, and inspect materials for plating processes, determine size and composition from customer orders, and maintain production and quality standards.

The role requires following safety rules, maintaining documentation, and working with measurement tools, blueprints, and gauges; lifting up to 70 pounds and standing for long periods are expected.

Qualifications

  • Legible handwriting is required.
  • Ability to follow written instructions accurately.
  • Proficient use of measuring instruments, gauges and test equipment.
  • Solid understanding of decimals and fractions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to accurately read blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Follows customer service schedule and assists customer service when requested.
  • Determines amount of time and electrical current for plating per procedures.
  • Verifies and sends racks according to shop instructions.
  • Visually inspects parts through cleaning and post-plate rinsing.
  • Performs thickness and adhesion tests and documents results.
  • Fills out HOLD tickets for non-conforming materials.
  • Maintains maintenance/daily check sheets and adjusts tank temperatures within range.
  • Follows all safety rules.

Job description

Summary of Duties:

Receives, verifies, and inspects materials received from warehouse for the plating processes. Responsible for size and count verification to ensure conformance to all specifications for the plating processes. Responsible for determining size, composition, plating process and thickness for materials from the customer order form. Must maintain production and quality standards. Must conform to all safety rules. Must maintain documentation as required. Performs other duties assigned by supervisor or lead person.


Job Duties Include (but not limited to):


  • Follows customer service schedule and assists customer service when requested.

  • Determines amount of time and electrical current to be applied to parts during plating process in accordance with standard manufacturing procedures.

  • Verifies and sends all racks according to shop order work instructions.

  • Visually inspects parts through cleaning process and post plate rinsing process.

  • Performs thickness and adhesion test and documents as required.

  • Responsible for filling out "HOLD" tickets for any/all non-conforming materials.

  • Responsible for filling out maintenance check sheets, daily check sheets, and maintenance request forms. Makes adjustments if necessary to get tank temperatures in operating ranges.

  • Follows all safety rules.

  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds at frequent intervals.

  • Must maintain "meets expectation" attendance, safety and job performance evaluations.

  • This job requires standing, stooping and bending 100% of the time.
